Glamour

The word “glamour” means sparkle or radiance — and that is the defining characteristic of the glamour style in interior design as well. In essence, it is an eclectic trend: in a glamour interior, a minimalist sofa can coexist harmoniously with a baroque armchair — the key is to bring them together with a refined sense of balance. The unifying elements are light, shine, opulence, and elegance.

Glamour style draws heavily from Art Deco, which flourished in the early 20th century. This is why gold, silver, velvet, and silk are almost mandatory elements in any glamour-inspired home. Of course, since glamour is a modern style, these materials can be substituted with contemporary alternatives — for example, plexiglass or glass instead of crystal, and chrome instead of silver. Above all, however, the most important element is the lighting — designed in perfect harmony with the furnishings.
