Eclectic style

An eclectic style is a design approach that deliberately and thoughtfully combines elements from different eras and styles in balanced proportions, while rarely relying on standalone features. Its uniqueness lies in the careful selection of two, at most three, styles. Without a clear concept, however, such spaces can easily become chaotic — with mismatched materials, colors, and shapes that lack any harmony.

Taking the architectural characteristics into account, the dominant style is chosen first. To this, small furniture pieces and accessories from contrasting styles are added. When selecting the styles to be mixed, it is essential to ensure a strong visual contrast (e.g., rustic and modern), while maintaining a unifying element — such as a shared color palette, material, or pattern — to create balance and cohesion.
